Low-calorie posting

I'm keeping it short and sweet tonight. Tonight, I'm preparing for my presentation tomorrow to a bunch of college journalists about how to break into the news business. I'm on a panel with two other professional news hounds, and I'm covering "Things To Do While You Are Still in School."

I figure I'll speak about 10 minutes, plus handle the master of ceremonies duties. Questions and answers to follow. You can get more detail by going here (Feb. 24, if the link doesn't work), when I wrote about it last month.

Strangely, I'm not bugging out, regarding this public speaking gig and all. I think I'm running cool because a) there won't be just me talking, b) I want to talk to kids about this, and c) I can warp their little minds and turn them into my own personal army of the damned, ready to cause havoc and take over the world. HHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!.

Er, sorry. Got a little too excited.

So, I'll check back in tomorrow and let you all know how it went.

Today's Word: Content

From One Word

Bland word, but okay. Content: That flavorless, generic word of the go-go-hipster-Web of the 1990s, referring to anything on a Web page. Content was valued as product, altering in great course the idea of goods and services that could be bought or sold. Hucksters placed the content label on everything.
