History has a cruel sense of humor
Saturday, I took out a bunch of books about the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. Without a hint of irony, the librarian cheerily told me the books were due back Dec. 7.
Also...
News is making its way around the Web (read: take it with a grain of salt) is that there will be a Pac Man movie.
Frankly, I'm still waiting for the movie version of "Pong," starring Ben Affleck as the paddle, Angelina Jolie as the sexpot genetic engineer/nightclub singer/Pong trainer with a dark secret, Kevin Spacey as the corrupt Pong commissioner, and Marlon Brando as the Pong arena.
Michael Bay directs.
Music by Outkast, Chemical Brothers and Faith Hill.
Soundtrack at Wal-Mart.
Read the official movie-based novel by Salman Rushdie.
Budget: $250 million.
Speaking of rapid-fire images...
Sure, I know...the GOP is amassing its virtually unstoppable juggernaut that will benefit only itself and its masters, the economy continues to falter, Osama bin Laden is still on the loose, and Iraq is about to burn in the fire of war, causing who knows what as a reaction, but I just have to drop this in.
If you have a PlayStation 2 or a GameCube, go rent yourself "The Clone Wars." It's all sorts of fun, and it's what "Attack of the Clones" should have been as a movie-going/storytelling experience. A word of caution, tho. If you didn't have ADD before you started playing, you will after playing it.
P.S.
Apparently, Rep. Pelosi didn't win just yet. I spoke too soon.
We also have a new addition to the family. Not what you think. More later.
That is all.
