At the movies

My mom just called. Her and step-dad (who had the day off from work; she doesn't work) went to go see the new Harry Potter movie which opened today. She liked it, calling it "scarier" than the first one.

She was surprised by all kids in the audience this early in the day, brought to the theater by a fleet of yellow school bus in the parking lot.

"Why weren't they in school?" Mom asked.

Without thinking, I replied: "Well, they were probably following the lead of their parents, who skipped work when the latest 'Star Wars' film opened."
